For over 30 years,, Inc. has enabled hundreds of For-Profit and Not-For-Profit companies to attain complete compliance under the Service Contract Act (SCA), Davis-Bacon Act (DBA), Javits Wagner O'Day (JWOD), and related legislation.
As the trusted experts in government contracts, our team of professionals provide affordable, full-service administration for 'bona-fide' fringe benefit plans as a third-party administrator in accordance with SCA requirements, using an irrevocable funding arrangement.
Through a blend of cost-effectiveness, forward thinking, and vast industry expertise, we avoid benefit-related cost overruns by providing equivalent employee benefits that meet, but do not exceed, the fringe dollar obligation. We attend to administrative details to be fully compliant with government regulations. We constantly monitor client's claims to assure consistency with goals and offer full-service administration, including the sensitive task of assisting companies through the transition. We provide ongoing consultation support on benefit design, ERISA, labor relations, government contract obligations, COBRA and HIPAA.
We currently offer an opportunity in our San Antonio, Texas office for a Corporate Attorney.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-    Responsible for overseeing all compliance related issues for group insurance benefits.
-    Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance Program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
-    Monitors, and as necessary, coordinates compliance activities of other departments to remain abreast of the status of all compliance activities and to identify trends.
-    Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues.
-    Helps to ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or required.
-    Responds to outside carrier audits and is the company representative with those carriers during the audit and any corrective action plans that are implemented.
-    Respond to State Department of Insurance Inquiries.
-    Assist in responding to US Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration and Wage and Hour Audits.
-    Research/analyze benefits issues, relations and laws to ensure compliance.
-    General Counsel for the Company
o    Review and negotiate vendor and carrier contracts.
o    Provide general legal advice on business operations.
o    Prepare correspondence to clients and/or carriers



Requirements:
*    Five (5) years' experience in a healthcare organization, insurance law and/or ERISA law firm.  
*    Must have knowledge of state Insurance laws, ERISA, PPACA, HIPAA, and COBRA.
*    Proven communications skills - oral and written.
*    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*    Ability to work autonomously and perform well under pressure. 
*    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must have an active bar license.
