Sage Intacct Consultant Staffing

KORE1 staffs Sage Intacct consultants on contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire across implementation, dimensions and reporting, revenue recognition, project accounting, and platform development, averaging 17 days to first qualified submit with 92% twelve-month retention.

Here’s what makes Sage Intacct different to hire for. It isn’t an IT system. It’s a finance system, sold to CFOs, endorsed by the AICPA as its preferred financial management solution, and configured mostly by people who used to close the books themselves. Plenty of companies still route the search through IT, write an IT job description, and then wonder why nobody on the shortlist can explain a deferred revenue schedule. Which is why this req sits closer to accounting and finance staffing than to a standard ERP consultant staffing search, even though it’s honestly both.

General ledger and the dimension model. Multi-entity consolidation and inter-entity transactions. ASC 606 revenue recognition, project accounting, the report writers, and the Platform Services layer underneath. Screened by recruiters who ask what your close looks like before they ask about software.

Dimension tags instead of a five-segment account string. Eight of the standard dimensions are shown here, and Sage ships more than that, with several switched on only by subscription. Sounds like a technical detail. It’s the whole hire, because getting that structure wrong in month one is the rework clients end up paying for twice.

Written for the CFO, controller, or VP of finance at a mid-market company that’s about to implement Sage Intacct, is halfway into one that’s slipping, or just lost the only person who understood how the dimensions were set up. Maybe you’re finally leaving QuickBooks and nobody internally has run a migration before. Maybe revenue recognition still lives in a spreadsheet that one person maintains and everyone quietly fears. What follows is what we actually staff in 2026, role by role and vertical by vertical. If the search spans several platforms rather than Sage Intacct alone, our ERP recruiters page covers the NetSuite, SAP, and Dynamics side, and for the accounting seats that sit around the system, start with accounting recruiters.

The Best Sage Intacct Consultants Come From the Controller’s Chair

Look at who’s actually hiring these people. Wipfli. Baker Tilly. Regional CPA firms with a technology practice bolted on.

That’s not an accident, and it changes how you should run the search. The AICPA named Sage Intacct its preferred financial management solution, which routed a decade of product adoption through accounting firms rather than systems integrators, and the consultant bench grew up inside those firms. So the person who can genuinely stand up a multi-entity consolidation, defend a dimension structure to an auditor, and explain why your close still takes eleven days is usually somebody who spent six years as a staff accountant and then a controller before they ever configured anything. Ask them about VLOOKUP and they’ll laugh. Ask them about a REST endpoint and roughly a third of them will politely change the subject.

Two consequences fall out of that. You’re competing with CPA-firm compensation and CPA-firm calendars, which means January through April is the worst window in the year to pull a strong candidate out of a public accounting practice. And an IT-written job description filters out the exact people you want, because the phrase that matters to them is “month-end close,” not “enterprise systems.” We’ve watched clients reopen a Sage Intacct req twice before anybody suggested moving it from the CIO’s budget to the CFO’s. That’s also why a controller search and a Sage Intacct consultant search overlap far more than either title suggests.

What Sage Intacct Job Descriptions Say, and What They Mean

Six phrases we see on almost every Sage Intacct req, and the follow-up question that turns each one into a real screen.

“Sage Intacct experience required”

Covers the bookkeeper who keyed AP into it for two years and the architect who designed a twelve-entity consolidation. Same three words. We ask which modules, how many implementations, and whether they owned the design or inherited it.

“Multi-entity experience”

Usually means two entities and a manual elimination journal. Ask how many entities, whether inter-entity transactions were automated or booked by hand, and whether any of them reported in a second currency.

“Technical ERP consultant”

Nine times out of ten the actual problem is configuration, not code. Real Platform Services work exists, but it’s a smaller slice than the job title implies, and pricing a functional need as a technical one costs you both money and time.

“CPA preferred”

On most ERP reqs this line is decoration. Here it isn’t. A CPA background is a genuine predictor of whether someone can defend a dimension structure and a revenue schedule to your auditors without a translator in the room.

“Revenue recognition”

Two very different jobs share this phrase. One is a simple deferred schedule on annual invoices. The other is multi-element ASC 606 allocation across a subscription book, and the people who’ve done the second one are scarce and they know it.

“QuickBooks to Intacct migration”

The data move is the easy half. The hard half is convincing a finance team that has tracked everything in the account number for fifteen years to let dimensions carry that weight instead. That’s change management wearing a data migration costume.

Nothing here is a gotcha. These are just the questions that separate a keyword on a résumé from somebody who has actually done the work, and they take about four minutes on a screening call.

Where Sage Intacct Searches Actually Land

Three shapes cover nearly every Sage Intacct req we open.

The implementation you’re already inside. Your partner owns the project plan, and your finance team still has to close the month while it happens. So you bring in a consultant to absorb the day job, or to sit inside the project and learn the configuration before the partner rolls off at hypercare. These usually run four to ten months on contract. When the program needs an owner rather than a pair of hands, that’s an ERP implementation project manager instead.

The one person who knew how it was built. Very common in the mid-market, and it’s the search that arrives with the most urgency. A single accounting manager quietly owned the dimension structure, the recurring journals, the report library, and the odd approval rule that stops a PO at $10,000. Then they left. This is nearly always contract-to-hire, because you want to watch somebody survive a real close before you commit headcount to them.

The vertical specialist. Narrowest pool, longest search. Sage Intacct sells hard into SaaS, nonprofit, professional services, healthcare, and construction, and each one wants a different consultant. Fund accounting and grant tracking for a nonprofit. Subscription revenue and ARR reporting for a SaaS company. Job costing and complex project billing for construction. We start sourcing these before the req is signed, because two weeks of lead time is the difference between three candidates and one.

What Changed in 2026, and Who You Hire Because of It

Sage shipped a real batch of automation this year. It moved the hiring conversation more than the marketing did.

Four things landed in May. AI-driven three-way matching went generally available for AP, Custom Approvals in purchasing entered early adopter release, SaaS Intelligence 2.0 shipped for ARR and cohort reporting, and the Sage Intacct AI Gateway went live, exposing financial data to outside AI tools through REST APIs and the Model Context Protocol. Gartner research cited alongside that release put 88% of CFOs ranking finance staff productivity among their top 2026 priorities, which is roughly what every CFO we talk to has been saying out loud since last fall.

Here’s the staffing read. Automating the matching does not remove the AP headcount, it moves the work upstream into approval design and exception handling, and that’s a configuration skill rather than a keying skill. The AI Gateway is the first thing in years that genuinely rewards a Sage Intacct consultant who also understands API access control, which is a rarer blend than it sounds. And SaaS Intelligence shifted a chunk of subscription reporting from custom report builds into the product, so the candidate who only ever sold you report writing has a smaller story to tell this year than last. Teams weighing this against other platforms usually end up comparing our NetSuite, Oracle Cloud ERP, and Dynamics 365 consultant pages at the same time.

Why KORE1 for Sage Intacct Staffing

We’ve run an accounting and finance desk alongside our enterprise IT desk since 2005, and Sage Intacct is one of the few searches that genuinely needs both. Our finance recruiters know what a controller’s résumé is worth. Our ERP recruiters know what a bad dimension design costs eighteen months later. On a Sage Intacct req, those two people are on the same call, which sounds like a small operational detail and turns out to matter a great deal.

Every submit clears a recruiter-led screen built around your close, not around a keyword. A rev rec candidate gets a multi-element contract scenario. An implementation candidate gets asked how they’d map an existing segmented chart of accounts into dimensions, and what they’d refuse to carry across. A platform candidate gets asked about a Smart Rule they inherited and what it was actually enforcing. We also ask everyone how recently they’ve worked in the product, because Sage ships quarterly and someone whose Intacct experience stopped in 2021 is a different hire than someone who tested the last three releases.

We’ll tell you when Sage Intacct isn’t the answer, too. Sometimes the gap is a financial analyst rather than a consultant. Sometimes the close is slow for reasons no ERP will fix, and what you need is a finance manager who’ll rebuild the calendar. If you’re still scoping the role, the salary benchmark tool will pull a current range before you set the req, and our CPA staffing and finance recruiters pages cover the seats around the system.

Recruiting is national, with desks in Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Sage Intacct work places remote more readily than most ERP staffing, since the product is cloud-only and the consultant pool has been distributed for years, though implementation leads often want a few onsite weeks around cutover. When you’re ready, reach out and we’ll scope the search against your entity structure and your close calendar rather than a job title.

Common Questions About Sage Intacct Consultant Staffing

What does a Sage Intacct consultant cost in 2026?

Contract Sage Intacct consultants generally bill between $85 and $175 an hour in 2026, with revenue recognition and platform specialists at the top of that band. Published 2026 guides put mid-level implementation consultants around $95K to $130K on salary, with practice leads well above that. Direct hire for an internal Sage Intacct administrator or finance systems lead typically lands between $105K and $150K depending on market and entity complexity. Our salary benchmark tool pulls a live range for your market before you set the req.

Is NetSuite or Dynamics experience transferable to Sage Intacct?

Partly, and the part that doesn’t transfer is the part that matters most. General ledger instincts, close discipline, and integration habits carry over cleanly from NetSuite or Dynamics 365. The dimension model does not. Someone who has spent years in a segmented chart of accounts will reach for account segments and subaccounts by reflex, and rebuilding that instinct mid-implementation is expensive. We treat cross-platform candidates as viable for administrator and analyst roles, and as a real risk on a greenfield design without a Sage Intacct lead alongside them.

Do we need a certified Sage Intacct consultant?

Certification helps, and it’s more meaningful here than in most ERP markets. Sage runs an Implementation Specialist certification aimed at partner consultants and an Accounting Specialist certification aimed at customers, both through Sage University. The catch is that the Implementation Specialist path is oriented around partner firms, so an excellent in-house consultant may never have sat the exam. What we weigh first is implementations shipped and closes owned. Certification breaks ties.

Should we use our Sage Intacct partner’s consultants or hire our own?

Use both, and be clear about what each one is for. Your implementation partner carries methodology and delivery risk under a signed statement of work, which genuinely matters at cutover. A directly-sourced consultant answers to you, costs meaningfully less per hour, and is still there in month nine when the partner has moved on. The finance teams that come out of an Intacct project in the best shape ran the partner alongside one or two of their own contract consultants who absorbed the configuration decisions instead of watching that knowledge walk out at hypercare.

How long does it take to fill a Sage Intacct consultant role?

Our average across finance and enterprise searches is 17 days to first qualified submit. Administrator and analyst roles usually fill in two to three weeks, direct hire runs four to seven, and vertical specialists take longest because the qualified pool is small and mostly employed. One timing note worth planning around. Busy season, roughly January through mid-April, dries up the CPA-firm bench that a lot of this talent sits on, so a February start date is harder to hit than a June one.

What’s the difference between a Sage Intacct administrator and a consultant?

An administrator runs the system you already have. A consultant changes it. Day to day the administrator owns users and roles, approval workflows, the report library, quarterly release testing, and close support, and that’s usually a permanent internal seat. A consultant is brought in to design or redesign something, a dimension structure, a revenue model, a new entity, an integration, and that’s usually contract or project work. Plenty of companies try to get both from one hire. It works right up until the redesign lands during close week.

Can Sage Intacct consultants work remotely?

Yes, and more comfortably than most ERP staffing. The product is cloud-only, the consultant community has been distributed for years, and the partner firms that trained most of this talent have run remote engagements since well before 2020. We still see clients ask for onsite time around two moments, discovery workshops at the front and the first close after cutover. Both are reasonable asks. Requiring five days a week onsite for the whole engagement is not, and it will cost you the top third of the pool.
