ERP Staffing in Salt Lake City When the Customer Is Also the Sales Force
Provo, Lehi and Pleasant Grove are home to some of the largest direct-selling companies in the world, and every order they book pays a chain of people across borders and currencies. We recruit the Epicor, Sage, Oracle Cloud ERP, Dynamics 365 and SAP people who keep that money straight, from the accrual to the payout to the January tax form.
Find a Salt Lake City ERP Consultant
For ERP staffing in Salt Lake City, KORE1 recruits SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud ERP, Dynamics 365, Sage and Epicor consultants, hourly or salaried, and 92% of those hires last beyond a year.
Drive south on I-15 past Point of the Mountain and the office parks start to look like software companies. Plenty of them are. Not all. Some of the biggest, though, sell vitamins, skin care and essential oils through people who are also their customers.
Nu Skin runs its business from West Center Street in Provo. doTERRA is in Pleasant Grove, Young Living and Nature’s Sunshine are in Lehi, and USANA sits up the freeway on West Parkway Boulevard in Salt Lake City. The Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute counted 91 direct-selling companies in Utah in 2020, plus 66 suppliers working for them.
The people buying are often the people getting paid.
A distributor orders product for her family, sells some to neighbors and earns a commission on what her recruits buy. To the ERP she’s a customer, a payee and a tax record. All at once. Nu Skin put its 2025 selling expenses, mostly those commissions, at 34.2% of revenue, and USANA’s core business paid 42.4% of net sales to the people who sell it.
We’ve filled ERP seats since 2005. Salt Lake searches pull from the whole ERP consultant staffing practice and from ERP recruiters working thirty-plus metros at once. That reach counts here, since the people who’ve wired a commission engine into SAP or Oracle Cloud ERP don’t all live in Utah County. Most do.
NetSuite searches belong to a separate desk that starts from our Salt Lake City NetSuite staffing practice, and most of the subscription software companies along Silicon Slopes live there. This page sticks to Epicor, Sage Intacct, Oracle Cloud ERP, Dynamics 365 and SAP S/4HANA.

Most boxes leaving a floor like this one go to people who will also get paid on what’s inside.
In Utah County, One Distributor Is a Customer, a Payee and a Tax Form
Ask the controller at a direct seller who the customers are and you’ll get a pause. Fair question. Awkward answer.
The same record buys product every month, earns commission on the people she brought in and, once the numbers get big enough, needs a 1099-NEC in January. The IRS instructions for that form even carry a checkbox, box 2, for a company that sold someone $5,000 or more of consumer products for resale anywhere other than a permanent retail store. That box exists for exactly this business.
Then add the world. About 74% of Nu Skin’s 2025 revenue came from outside the United States, spread over nearly 50 markets, and USANA earned 75.7% of its net sales abroad, mostly in Asia Pacific. Every market tends to mean its own legal entity, its own currency, its own tax rules and its own payout calendar. Sometimes more.
Regulators watch the same data. The FTC’s business guidance on multi-level marketing turns on whether a pay plan rewards activity unrelated to sales to ultimate users, so a company needs order history that separates a distributor’s own buying from what reached real end customers. That split usually lives in the ERP. Or it should.
Short version.
The customer master and the vendor master hold the same people, and both halves have to stay right in every country at once. Same names, two ledgers. Most ERP projects are never asked to do that, and most consultants have never seen it.
In this business, the receivable and the payable can carry the same name.
One $100 Order From Taipei, Followed Up the Line to Utah
A direct-selling pay plan sends part of every order up through the people who sponsored the buyer. This invented plan pays out 41 cents of each sales dollar, near the 42.4% USANA’s core business reported for 2025. Not unusual. Green means money going back out to the field, and only that.

Nobody knows the true payout on the day the order ships. It depends on who qualifies by month end, so finance books an estimate, the commission engine runs after the close, and the difference gets trued up. Monthly. In every market the company sells in.
Where the hire sits in this picture
The month-end estimate
The ledger carries an accrual until the plan runs, then absorbs the variance. Owning that takes a finance systems lead with SAP FICO or Oracle Cloud ERP years behind them, someone who can explain the swing before the controller asks. We don’t find many.
One person, two masters
A distributor record has to behave like a customer for orders and returns and like a vendor for commissions, withholding and year-end forms. Keeping both halves matched across markets is master data work, and that bench overlaps heavily with our ERP data migration staffing desk. Thankless work.
A payout file for every currency
The engine hands finance a file per market, each tied to its own legal entity and its own bank. Behind it sits multi-entity setup with intercompany settlement, usually a Dynamics 365 Finance or SAP functional consultant working beside someone from our integration engineer staffing bench. Ask a finalist which rate date they would use. Then listen.
The plan, the cities and the people on it are made up. Real pay plans, and the tax and regulatory calls behind them, belong to your counsel, your auditors and your compliance team. Our part is finding whoever writes those decisions into configuration.

Every capsule in that bag traces back to an ingredient lot that needed an identity test before anyone could use it.
Salt Lake City Supplement Plants Run ERP as a Records System
A lot of these companies make what they sell. Right here, too. USANA manufactures about 56% of its products in-house, at its Salt Lake City headquarters and a 54,000 square foot plant next door, and Nature’s Sunshine makes most of its line in Spanish Fork.
Federal rules decide what the system has to hold. Under 21 CFR Part 111, a manufacturer runs at least one appropriate test to verify the identity of each dietary ingredient, and it writes a batch production record every time it makes a batch, naming the equipment, the processing line and the identity and weight of every component. Every single batch.
Then it keeps it all.
Section 111.605 sets the clock at one year past the shelf-life date, or two years past distribution of the last batch when no shelf-life date is used. So the ERP turns into a records system as much as a ledger. Every incoming lot of turmeric or fish oil carries its identity result before it can go to a batch, and a recall means tracing one supplier lot to every finished bottle. Quickly.
Loren Israelsen, who founded the United Natural Products Alliance, has put Utah’s supplement industry at roughly $16 billion, according to NutraIngredients. Much of it runs on SAP, Dynamics 365 or Epicor with a quality system beside it. The hardest seat is a process manufacturing consultant who has set up quality holds and lot control and has sat through an FDA inspection afterward. Plant quality hires come through our life sciences staffing team.
Salt Lake City ERP Recruiting From Ogden to Provo
Up and down the Wasatch Front the platforms repeat. The first hard close a new hire meets does not. Green swatches flag districts where that close is money owed back to a sales force, ink covers everything else, and each orange tag points at the role we spend longest searching for.
Salt Lake hiring managers rarely open with which ERP a candidate knows. They ask about the worst month-end the person ever got through. Twenty miles down I-15, the answer they want is different. Good question, though.
Utah County Direct Sellers
Lehi · Pleasant Grove · Orem · Provo
Nu Skin in Provo, doTERRA in Pleasant Grove, and Young Living, Nature’s Sunshine and LifeVantage in Lehi. LifeVantage paid 42.2% of its fiscal 2026 revenue back out as commissions and incentives. Most finance departments in the county keep SAP, Dynamics 365 or Oracle Cloud ERP underneath a specialty commission engine and an order platform built for distributors, and the ladder above is the first week of their month. Commission and order analytics hires tend to come from the data staffing team in Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake Valley Plants
West Valley · Downtown · South Salt Lake · Sugar House
USANA makes product on West Parkway Boulevard, and food, supplement and consumer goods plants fill the industrial parks between the airport and I-215. Process manufacturing, mostly. Potency, shelf life, quality holds. Plant controllers and cost accountants usually come from KORE1’s accounting recruiters in Salt Lake City.

Magna and the West Side
Magna · Bingham Canyon · West Jordan · Northwest Quadrant
Kennecott’s mine, smelter and refinery line the Oquirrh Mountains, and the Northwest Quadrant near the airport keeps filling up with distribution centers. Metals accounting and warehouse ERP look nothing alike. Both reward people who believe a physical count over a system balance. Warehouse and logistics seats outside finance go through our supply chain staffing desk.

Ogden, Roy and Hill AFB
Ogden · Roy · Layton · Clearfield
Northrop Grumman broke ground in July 2026 on another building at its Roy Innovation Center for the Air Force’s Sentinel missile program, and it employs more than 11,000 people across the state. A ring of machine shops and composites suppliers grew up around Hill Air Force Base. Government cost rules shape the books of anyone selling into it. Engineers for those plants are recruited by our aerospace engineering staffing group.

Draper and the South Valley
Draper · South Jordan · Sandy · Bluffdale
Medical device makers cluster between Sandy and Point of the Mountain, Merit Medical’s South Jordan headquarters among them, alongside a long run of smaller catheter, implant and diagnostics shops. Stock consigned to hospitals and lot tracing for recalls pull the ERP into the quality system. Recalls don’t wait. Device engineers and quality staff come through our medical device staffing team.

Park City and Summit County, Logan and the Cache Valley food processors, and St. George down south all run through the same desk. One team, one bench.

Sold, shipped and invoiced. The final price on these sheets may still be months away.
West of Salt Lake City, Copper Ships Before Its Price Is Final
Kennecott runs surface and underground mines, a concentrator, a smelter and a refinery on the valley’s west side, and it’s one of only two copper smelters operating in the United States. Rio Tinto reports 133.6 thousand tonnes of refined copper from it in 2025, even after a planned smelter shutdown cut output by close to a third. Gold, silver, molybdenum and tellurium come out of the same ore. One very big hole.
The accounting is strange.
Metal ships first. The final price comes later. Rio Tinto’s 2025 annual report says it’s set by a quotational period written into the contract, and for copper concentrate it’s normally fixed 30 to 120 days after delivery. Across the whole group, provisional pricing adjustments added $758 million to 2025 revenue, all on sales that were already booked.
Then there are the co-products. One stream of ore, one cost pool, five metals. How much cost each metal carries is a policy decision for the controller, and the ERP has to repeat that decision exactly, period after period.
The hire here is rare. Look for an SAP consultant who has built commodity pricing and provisional invoicing, preferably at a miner or a metals trader, and expect every supplier to the mine to want the same few people. For the plant and maintenance systems around it, our manufacturing ERP staffing practice covers the rest.
Salt Lake City ERP Hires, Short Term or Permanent
Contract
Contract staffing suits work that ends, like rebuilding the commission accrual before an auditor’s first visit.
Contract-to-hire
Run a few true-ups together, then extend a permanent offer once the variances stop surprising anyone.
Direct hire
Pay plan configuration you’ll own for years belongs with an employee, found through a direct hire search.
Statement of work
Opening a new market or moving platforms? Bring a fixed crew, priced by deliverable instead of by the hour.
Salt Lake calls usually arrive with a launch attached. A new country opens, the pay plan changes in January, or a quarter-end close needs another pair of hands. We build the search around that date and cover the launch weeks with go-live and hypercare crews. Dates drive everything.
Pay plans get edited in production more often than anyone admits. Colin Boothe’s consultancy, Foretopia, closes that door in its change control. Every code and configuration change goes through version control with a commit reference traceable to its change record, and direct changes to a production environment outside the process aren’t permitted. Write the same rule into the SOW before a January plan change, and staff an ERP project manager who will hold people to it.
The staffing agency in Salt Lake City shares a bench with Salt Lake City IT recruiting and with engineering recruiters for the Wasatch Front. Elsewhere in the West, this ERP desk recruits in Denver, Phoenix, Seattle, Portland and Dallas, and out on the northern plains in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, and back east in Philadelphia and its suburbs. When one city page is too narrow, ERP program team staffing builds a whole crew, and ERP staff augmentation drops one consultant into a team you already run.
Common Questions
Does KORE1 staff SAP, Oracle and Dynamics roles in Salt Lake City?
Yes, along with Epicor and Sage, where we cover both Intacct and Sage X3. NetSuite runs through our NetSuite staffing practice instead. On those five we recruit solution architects, functional analysts, developers, admins, migration leads and PMs.
How fast can you fill a Salt Lake City ERP opening?
About seventeen days, which is the average for our IT searches from the day a req opens to a signed offer. Plenty of Salt Lake ERP roles land close to that. Commission systems and commodity pricing seats take longer, because so few people have done the work. Some close faster.
What does an ERP consultant get paid in Salt Lake City?
Less than the national average, on base salary. Federal OEWS data for May 2025 puts Salt Lake City computer systems analysts at a $99,100 mean wage, roughly 13% below the national mean of $114,610. Contract rates spread wider, and our ERP consultant hourly rates for 2026 break them out by role. Commission engine or SAP commodity experience lifts a rate more than tenure does.
Can SAP or Oracle Cloud ERP calculate direct-selling commissions on its own?
Usually not. Most direct sellers run a dedicated commission engine that walks the sponsor tree, applies qualification and roll-up rules and produces the payout file, while the ERP books the accrual, pays each market in its own currency and keeps the audit trail. Two systems, one number. Most of the seats we fill here exist to keep them in agreement every month.
What does 21 CFR Part 111 ask of a supplement maker’s ERP?
Records, kept for years. A manufacturer verifies the identity of each dietary ingredient, writes a batch production record for every batch, and keeps those records one year past shelf life or two years past the last batch’s distribution. In most Utah plants the ERP holds the lot, the test result and the link between them.
Do you recruit in Utah County and Ogden, or only in Salt Lake City?
The whole Wasatch Front, from Ogden and Layton down through Lehi, Orem and Provo, plus Park City and Logan. Plenty of candidates already commute between Utah County and Salt Lake on I-15 or FrontRunner, so one search usually covers both. Same bench. Remote and hybrid ERP roles widen it further.
Is contract or full-time better for an ERP hire?
Go contract when there’s a finish line. Simple rule. Opening a payout entity for a new market or rebuilding an accrual ends at some point, but owning the pay plan setup and the monthly true-up never does, so that person should be an employee. Contract-to-hire sits between them, and our piece comparing contract-to-hire with direct hire costs prices both.
